Off- Grid and Geothermal Houses

In close collaboration with specialist consultants our off grid/rural houses are often thermally modelled to calculate thermal and electrical demands. The model is also used to assess glazing and thermal performances of the house. The various systems are analysed as to what is a best fit for the project and our clients. These may include a solar PV and battery system combined with geothermal systems. They often utilise bore water if available and suitable or earth trenches (horizontal geothermal systems) or water sources such as dams. Then, they can be used to heat and cool our houses. Ground heat exchangers, convert the extracted, constant, earth temperature to either cool or heat our buildings.

Feasibility assessments including payback periods can be completed whilst considering events like rural power outages. Pros and Cons are also investigated. Along with these, our buildings fabric and insulation, external glazing, building  sealing and air movement, solar orientation and shading are all carefully considered.

A renewable energy solution can be individually tailored to our client’s needs.
